Martial Arts Classes

I lead a weekly martial arts class for women, trans, and nonbinary folks in Peninsula Park in North Portland. I also co-host twice-yearly Femm Fighting workshops with my friend Jaydra Perfetti at Southwest Portland Martial Arts.

My goal as a teacher is to create a safe and fun learning environment that affirms and supports our experience as women, nonbinary, and trans martial artists. Our classes have a strong focus on personal connection and community-building. Beginners are always welcome.

Weekly Class Details:

Day & Time: Sundays 3:00 – 4:15 pm

Cost: Sliding Scale Donation $5-$20/class

Location: Peninsula Park, meet at the central gazebo

To Register: Drop-ins welcome, or email me directly if you have questions.

Each class will begin with introductions, a warm up, and standing meditation. We will connect to our lower dantian, the energetic center in the lower abdomen, and listen for how we can feel greater harmony in our bodies. From there our practice may include the white lotus daoyin, freeform martial movement, learning new techniques, or push hands. We may also explore working with weapons, ground work, and self-defense strategies. Students are always invited to ask questions and give feedback, and class content is often determined by what students are interested in learning. We wrap up with a cool down, sharing what we learned, five minutes of journaling, and a closing salutation.

Wear comfortable clothes, shoes, and sun protection, and bring a water bottle.

Thank you, and I hope to see you in class!
